We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to lead and oversee all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE/EHS) functions for large-scale industrial/construction projects. The role requires strong leadership to drive a zero-harm safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and proactively manage risks across all site activities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical, electrical, and MEP construction environments, with strong exposure to industrial/manufacturing project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and implement the overall HSE strategy for project sites.
  • Develop and drive safety policies, procedures, and standards aligned with statutory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all stakeholders including contractors and vendors.
  • Establish safety goals, KPIs, and performance monitoring systems.

Site Safety Management

  • Conduct and supervise regular site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local safety regulations, OHS norms, and company standards.
  • Oversee implementation of permit-to-work (PTW) systems, LOTO, and high-risk activity controls.
  • Monitor critical activities such as work at height, heavy lifting operations, electrical works, confined space entry and hot work.

Risk Assessment & Incident Management

  • Lead risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP studies, and job safety analyses (JSA).
  • Develop and implement mitigation measures for identified risks.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, performing root cause analysis.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to avoid recurrence.
  • Maintain incident logs and ensure reporting as per statutory requirements.

Training & Awareness

  • Design and conduct safety training programs, toolbox talks, and inductions for employees and contractors.
  • Ensure all workforce is aware of site safety procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Build competency across teams for safe work practices and hazard identification.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure all contractors and subcontractors comply with project safety requirements.
  • Participate in pre-bid safety evaluations and contractor prequalification.
  • Drive safety performance through regular reviews, audits, and meetings.
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on safety matters.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Establish and implement emergency response plans and conduct mock drills.
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of fire safety systems, PPE, and safety equipment.
  • Lead response during emergencies and ensure proper incident escalation.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain all safety documentation, reports, and records.
  • Prepare safety performance reports, incident and audit reports, monthly HSE dashboards and MIS.
  • Track safety KPIs and provide insights for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance documentation is available for audits and inspections.

Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive experience in industrial / manufacturing / EPC construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations, construction safety standards and fire and emergency management systems.
  • Expertise in hazard identification, risk control, and safety audits.
  • Experience handling MEP, Electrical, and Mechanical works safety.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, training, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure and complex site environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety reporting systems.

Preferred Certifications

  • IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
  • NEBOSH (added advantage)
  • Any additional global safety certifications
