What’s on offer?

We’re looking for an experienced Safety Manager to support the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project in New South Wales for our Eastern Region Construction (ERC) business. This is a critical leadership role where you’ll help set the tone for safety across the project and ensure every task is planned and delivered the right way.

Working closely with the Project Director and delivery teams, you’ll provide clear direction, advice and support to embed a strong safety culture across all work fronts. You’ll be visible on site, working alongside teams to identify risks, implement controls and ensure safe outcomes are achieved every day.

What you’ll do

  • Lead safety across the project, ensuring all works are planned and delivered in line with requirements
  • Provide clear guidance and support to teams on risk identification, controls and safe work practices
  • Work closely with delivery teams to embed safety into planning and day-to-day operations
  • Monitor safety performance, lead investigations and drive improvement initiatives
  • Engage with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure consistent safety standards are met
  • Build a strong, proactive safety culture across the project team

How you’ll connect to the role?

We’re looking for a Safety Manager who brings strong experience in construction or infrastructure projects and understands how to support delivery teams in a practical way. You’re confident working in dynamic site environments and know how to balance compliance requirements with real-world project delivery.

You take a hands-on, visible approach to safety and are comfortable influencing decisions, providing guidance and supporting teams on site. You’re someone who builds trust, communicates clearly and works collaboratively to drive the right outcomes.

You care about people and the environments we work in, set clear expectations and lead by example. You take pride in creating a culture where everyone looks out for each other and goes home safe. You don’t need to tick every box, if you bring the right experience, mindset and a genuine commitment to safety, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a great opportunity to step into a role where you can shape how safety is delivered on a large, complex project and continue to grow your career as part of a supportive and high-performing team.

Our people share the same set of values that keep us REAL. Respect, Energy and Effort, Attitude and Leadership encapsulate what we stand for at Fulton Hogan and encourage us to foster a diverse and inclusive culture where we listen to, care for, celebrate, and respect everyone.

We are committed to reconciliation and building and nurturing respectful relationships with First Nations peoples. Through our First Nations Engagement Strategy and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we aim to promote opportunities, cultural understanding and partnerships that celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of Indigenous communities.

If our values resonate with you, please submit an application for the position. If you’re not sure that you meet 100% of the selection criteria, that’s okay, we would still like to hear from you and potentially discuss how your skills could be utilised at Fulton Hogan.
