This position can be based out of our Chilton, Wrightstown, or Valders location.
Country Visions Cooperative is continuing to grow and is now searching for an experienced full-time internal Safety Manager. You will be required to travel to all of our locations throughout northeast Wisconsin to conduct safety inspections, handle accidents, injuries, spills, or conduct safety training or drug and alcohol testing. Additionally, this role manages the internal administrative tasks associated with safety. This is a new position and reports directly to the VP of Human Resources.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibility of the Safety Manager is to create and maintain a safe, compliant, and risk-aware workplace.
The core responsibilities include: safety policy and compliance, risk assessment and hazard control, training and education, incident investigation and reporting, inspections and audits, emergency preparedness, safety culture and communication, and documentation and recordkeeping. These are the tasks associated with these core responsibilities:
Develop and implement workplace safety policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with regulations from agencies such as OSHA
Keep up with changing laws and update internal policies accordingly
Conduct walk-through inspection of all company locations at least once per year. Complete an inspection report and work with the location manager on handling any findings
Conduct regular risk assessments and job safety analyses
Implement controls to reduce risks
Respond to accidents, injuries, or spills. Conduct investigations, comply with government agencies, and provide reports to the appropriate parties
Manage all aspects of company training, utilizing company e-learning platforms and oversight of all training documents
Track safety metrics and analyze safety data to improve safety performance
Conduct training as necessary. Examples: forklift training, lock-out, tag-out procedures, etc.
Manage and run necessary drills (fire, evacuation, emergency response)
Work with outside agencies to provide additional, necessary training sessions
Lead the Safety Committee, including leading quarterly committee meetings
Work with the Transportation Manager to oversee and properly review all employee DOT records
Coordinate and work with human resources on new-hire training and all other necessary employee safety needs
Build strong working relationships with location managers, the transportation manager, human resources team members, and executive leaders
Respectfully and professionally work with other team members
Must be able to travel to company locations, as necessary
Routinely update all safety documents, including Emergency Action Plans for each location
Work with OSHA as needed, including investigations and incident responses
Conduct internal safety audits
Prepare for external inspections or audits
Promote a culture of safety across the organization
Encourage reporting of hazards and near-misses
Conduct or coordinate required drug and alcohol testing
Other duties as assigned by manager
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have 5 or more years of safety related experience
OSHA 30-hour certification
Certified to conduct urine analysis tests, or be willing to achieve this certification within 90 days of hire
Knowledge of safety regulations and standards
Attention to detail and hazard recognition
Strong communication and training ability
Problem-solving and investigative skills
Must have a continuous learning mindset
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Willingness and ability to travel within CVC’s location footprint
Must possess a valid driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or applicable area of study
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
Experience in the agricultural industry is highly preferred
