Our Company operates over 130 tow and tugboats on the Mississippi River System, Gulf-Intracoastal Waterway, and near-shore coastwise market. With approximately 1,800 vessel and shore-based employees, Marquette is the largest provider of independent towing services within the inland waterways.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Attend and assist internal/external vessel compliance activities such as Audits, Surveys, and Coast Guard inspections.
• Participate in drafting Risk Assessments for various vessel operations.
• Maintain and analyze the database of audits, inspections, and expiration dates; flag upcoming deadlines proactively.
• Organize and maintain safety records; training files, audits, corrective actions, manuals, and reports.
• Conduct SMS Audits to determine gaps between Policy and Procedures.
• Help draft content for safety newsletters and safety alerts, for review before distribution.
• Ability to travel and board vessels in remote areas on the river system.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, or related field.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional team player.

This is a paid summer internship opportunity located onsite in Paducah, KY, with internship dates ranging from mid-May to early August 2027 (can be flexible on dates).
