Role: Safety, Health & Wellbeing Partner

Location: Supporting services across New South Wales, with 1 day based at the Alexandria Centre Support Office and a minimum of 1 day onsite at services

As a Safety, Health & Wellbeing Partner, you’ll be the trusted first point of contact supporting our centres and people leaders with timely, practical advice that keeps our people safe, supported and well. Working in a purpose-driven organisation, you’ll help turn complex safety requirements into clear, confident action that makes a real difference every day.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for Safety, Health and Wellbeing enquiries across Goodstart
  • Provide clear, practical and timely advice aligned to policies, procedures and legislation
  • Support and coordinate incident management and investigations, gathering accurate information and engaging internal specialists
  • Ensure legislative compliance, including reporting, notifications and maintaining key registers
  • Help Goodstarters understand safety requirements by making the complex simple
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying trends, themes and opportunities to strengthen safety outcomes
  • Build positive, respectful relationships that reinforce safety as part of being a Goodstarter

You’ll bring to the table:

  • Demonstrated understanding and practical application of Workplace Health & Safety legislation
  • Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Experience providing safety advice in a complex, people-focused environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate policy into clear, user-friendly guidance
  • High attention to detail with strong case management, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Experience in a social enterprise, education or health setting (highly regarded)
  • Experience in Early Childhood Education (desirable, not essential)
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
