Job Description

Overall governance
• Ensure understanding of SHEQ-related policies, regulations, and standards, in order to understand tasks needed to be carried out according to function’s policies and frameworks, as well as to ensure alignment and compliance with legal regulations and with the company’s overall direction, standards, and governance.
• Support periodic revision of policies, standards, guidelines, work processes and procedures that are relevant to SHEQ-related work, to ensure efficient operation and alignment with company’s policies & compliance with relevant governance.

Function-related accountabilities
1. Frameworks and standards select
• Conduct basic research and evaluate of the available frameworks and standards to understand their benefits, setbacks, and suitability, including gaining inputs (internal & external) as well as assess the context, strategies, and directions of the organization, for frameworks and standards selection.
• Support in periodically review selection of frameworks and standards in use to ensure its suitability.

2. SHEQ Compliance
• Provide inputs and preliminary recommend changes to the SHEQ Management System and SHEQ standards of project plans, policies, and procedures so that SHEQ standards are met, monitored, maintained, and compliant with local laws.
• Provide basic support in developing, communicating and monitoring SHEQ performance targets and control the monitoring process to encourage SHEQ compliance from functions and individuals.
• Perform research, interpret basic information, and act on regulation updates regarding the SHEQ aspect to avoid incompatibility with legislatures and workflow disruptions.
• Assist senior members in maintaining contacts with relevant SHEQ representatives (e.g., contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, etc.).

3. SHEQ Risk Management
• Analyze basic data on functional procedures, and research about possible SHEQ risks, preventive methods, and resolving processes to set up guidelines on managing and handling SHEQ risks for each function.
• Assist senior members in investigating high-potential incidents and serious accidents to discover the causes and to improve the SHEQ guidelines.
• Assist senior members in setting up schedule for and SHEQ audits-related activities to assess functional and company-wide SHEQ risks and to take appropriate actions to offset the risks.

4. SHEQ Advisory and Training
• Collect SHEQ-related training requirements from each function and assist senior members in identifying SHEQ-related skill gaps across the organization to provide pertinent required training/skill to employees.
• Perform basic research for training content development that addresses identified needs and supports training program delivery.
• Assist senior members in evaluating the effectiveness of the training programs to identify gaps/room for improvement for future training programs.
• Assist senior members in providing advices regarding SHEQ-related work to functions and individuals to maintain SHEQ integrity and to ensure compliance with legal standards.
