Basic Job Functions:

The Safety & Health Coordinator will provide professional support to improve and sustain the safety & health of all teammates. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Must adhere to Nucor’s safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor’s vision and values.
• Support division safety performance, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations, including OSHA.
• Support division with all aspects of field/shop safety teams & programs.
• Collaborate across departments on safety projects, inititivies, and analysis.
• Maintain and report safety data – KPI statistics, training, compliance records, confidential records, safety management system, etc.
• Being available to address/participate in on-call and/or after-hours onsite safety needs.
• Assisting in and/or overseeing incident analysis & root cause analysis program.
• Assisting in coordination of contractor safety program, requirements, and monitor performance.
• Coordinating, scheduling, tracking, updating, and/or delivering division safety training & culture-building activities to include onboarding & annual training.
• Analyzing compliance, inspections, and auditing safety efforts.
• Developing, maintaining, evaluating job safety analysis/procedures.
• Performing routine/frequent field observations
• Coordinating of onsite Emergency Response program & routine audits.
• Communicating safety information (flyers, alerts, presentations, etc.)
• Assisting with planning and coordinating division activities and events.
• Maintaining department webpage, dashboards, online safety platforms
• Participating & leading division in regional & product group safety initiatives
• Other duties as assigned by Health & Safety Director

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to work overtime when requried
• Ability to gain & maintain Emergency Medical Responder Certification
• Ability to gain & maintain Mental Health First Aid Certification
