Job Description

Leidos has an exciting opening for you as our next Safety Engineer under the digital modernization group. As a Safety Engineer, you will be required to help manage the Construction Safety Program for the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center campus in Oklahoma City, OK.

All work is conducted on-site at our client location in Oklahoma City, OK.

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years.)

All new hires must pass a drug test prior to starting with Leidos.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of procedures, processes, standards, specifications, and systems to identify and achieve optimal control or reduction of hazards and exposures that may harm people, property, and/or the environment
  • Serve as part of a multidisciplinary team in analyzing field-level hazard-producing mechanisms
  • Research regulatory, scientific, and engineering written materials
  • Assist safety professionals in facility inspections and annual audits. Works with team to inspect new and on-going construction projects
  • Reviews construction drawings from an occupational safety and health perspective
  • Assist with hot work permits
  • Assist with Construction Safety
  • Assist with Safety Program Meetings
  • Provide weekly construction reports
  • Review and modify emergency evacuation maps

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering, a related field or equivalent experience and with 1 - 3 years of prior experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
