The annual base salary range for this position:

zł84,000.00 - zł124,800.00

Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

Job Purpose

This role is an important contributor to supporting Shell's overall business processes by authoring safety data sheets and supporting label generation. New products and entry into new markets cannot occur without supporting documentation.

General Position Definition

The Safety Data Sheet authoring team is part of the Product Stewardship (PS) that is responsible for the delivery of Hazard Communication documentation to various classes of business to support Shell's license to operate. The team manages more than 130,000 documents in more than 27 languages. The team manages close relationships with other functions and business contacts to execute this work. The product stewardship authoring platform is the primary system for supporting this work and requires the application of a skill level of knowledge to execute the required job activities.

Dimensions

Individual contributor with no direct reports. Is part of a global team that is responsible for supporting business compliance. Must meet timelines and product quality expectations. Omissions can result in penalties and business interruption.

Accountabilities

  • Works within the rules and processes defined for the team to identify and assemble appropriate information within the system to produce accurate safety data sheets to meet the agreed deadlines (COB SLAs or project due dates).

  • Applies technical knowledge and regulatory rules to produce compliant hazard communication documentation. Is comfortable challenging presented information that does not appear to be consistent with current regulatory interpretations.

  • Manages stakeholders within and outside the Product Stewardship team

  • Identifies and promotes Continuous Improvement opportunities to eliminate waste where possible.

  • Has a recognized proficiency in one or more areas of regulatory or technical content and the functioning of the SAP system.

  • Can identify and work with the business or functional specialists to resolve data omissions or inconsistencies and share learning in the team from such issues.

  • Plans and executes work assigned. Report on status and escalate issues that may impact delivery. Negotiates delivery of work with the customer and immediate supervisor.

  • Is responsible for the quality of their work product

  • Follows up on defect elimination efforts and schedules project work to ensure closure of actions.

  • Follows records management processes as prescribed.

Special Challenges

The successful applicant will need to become proficient in the SAP PSP system and the Authoring process, business portfolio and expected to address any weakness in competency within an agreed timeline.

The successful applicant should understand the nature of this work and have an aptitude for detailed office work operating within an SAP application.

Significant regulatory and business changes can be associated with pressure for a quick work product turnaround. Successful team members are able to be flexible and work with changing circumstances.

The position requires a self-starter who is comfortable executing a defined plan of work but also willing to participate as part of a broader team to learn and help others.

Experience and Qualifications required

Individuals who are successful in this position often have exposure to relevant regulatory requirements and/or product chemistry concepts. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the sciences is strongly preferred. Consideration will be given to individuals who have acquired appropriate knowledge, experience and interest. Familiarisation with Shell's product portfolio is an advantage.

Candidates with a background as industrial, refinery or R&D laboratory technicians have previously been successful in this role.

Additional Comments

The learning curve of this position is challenging. Achieving a basic working knowledge within the first 3 months is critical. Additional competencies will need to be achieved within the first 6 months.
