- Coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system and Written Safety Program
- Lead new hire safety orientation and conduct annual refresher training for employees; partner with HR to support safety onboarding processes
- Manage incident and accident reporting: gather documentation, maintain records, update summary logs, and ensure timely workers’ compensation submissions with HR
- Investigate workplace incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance documentation, including OSHA 300 logs, safety dashboards (SQDC), and safety alerts
- Organize and facilitate Safety Committee meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow-up on action items
- Conduct routine safety inspections and monitor employee adherence to PPE and safe work practices
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including annual evacuation drills and closure of corrective actions
- Compile and submit required monthly and annual safety reports to regional leadership and regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with regional safety teams to develop, review, and implement safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments
- Support supervisors in developing safe work procedures, checklists, and safety guidelines
- Oversee contractor work, repairs, and installations to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain comprehensive records of safety procedures, incidents, and compliance activities
- Serve as a liaison with external agencies (e.g., OSHA, fire departments, insurance representatives)
- Support plant leadership in setting safety targets, tracking performance, and ensuring HSE compliance
- Escalate significant safety concerns or deviations to plant and regional leadership
- Participate in ongoing safety training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/ GED
Ability to work with all hierarchical levels in a cooperative, target-oriented and appropriate way as well as to communicate HSE-related subjects with both enthusiasm and conviction
1-2 years HSE experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Fluent in written and oral English communication; Spanish language is a plus
Strong Microsoft Office tools experience
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy regarding documentation, presentations and data
Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills; strong empathy and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative and multitask
Must be able to read, understand and comply with written and verbal instructions, company processes and procedures and safety policies
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical equipment such as forklifts and other machinery. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Ability to work in temperature conditions between 45 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
