Job Description

The Safety Coordinator provides hands-on leadership through training, auditing, data analysis, and supporting (until trained to execute independently) safety/security incident management. Specific responsibilities include assisting with the management of safety platforms (such as I Warehouse, Infolink, QLIK, etc.), educating and certifying MHE trainers, overseeing/auditing the onboarding processes, MHE operator training and certification management, facility start-up support, incident information control, and overseeing/auditing safety training presented by our training department

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve safety/security compliance while integrating those safety/security standards into operational planning and decision-making for multiple sites.
• Support new business start-ups by ensuring facilities are equipped to meet compliance and ODW safety standards.
• Conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards (i.e., OSHA, EPA, fire codes, etc.).
• Provide training and support for operations, leadership, exempt onboarding, MHE Trainers, and Training team members.
• Conduct Risk Assessments & Hazard Identification, develop corrective action plans, and track actions to closure.
• Support emergency response efforts, incident reporting, and incident investigation.
• Implement and/or update policies, programs, and procedures annually or as necessary.
• Analyze safety data to identify trends, successes, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support recognition programs for teams and associates demonstrating strong safety performance.
• Monitoring and investigating Near Miss reports and Behavior-Based Safety Observations monthly.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for site-level safety-related issues and initiatives.
• Provide guidance or interpretation of safety-related changes to operations teams.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
