About the Role

We're seeking a proactive and solutions-focused Safety & Compliance Advisor to join our team supporting a major Schools Infrastructure portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys building relationships, driving compliance and influencing positive safety cultures. Working closely with operational teams, contractors and client stakeholders, you'll help ensure the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance are maintained across maintenance delivery programs.

You'll play a key role in contractor engagement, auditing, reporting, onboarding and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting operational delivery teams to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support health, safety, quality and compliance activities across the contract

  • Conduct audits of contractor safety documentation including SWMS, toolbox talks and licences

  • Monitor contractor compliance with WHS reporting and legislative obligations

  • Facilitate consultation, cooperation and coordination between contractors and stakeholders

  • Review asbestos registers, hazardous materials registers and site compliance requirements

  • Manage contractor and employee onboarding and offboarding processes

  • Monitor training records and ensure mandatory training requirements are completed

  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions

  • Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reporting

  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives

  • Support operational teams during periods of high demand and workforce absences

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement

About You

  • Experience in health & safety roles

  • Knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and compliance requirements

  • Experience conducting audits and supporting compliance programs

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and contractor management skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Experience supporting incident investigations and corrective actions

  • High attention to detail and strong reporting capability

  • Confident using Microsoft Office including Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint

  • Formal qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline
