Job Description

Wood require 12 x Safety Coaches for our ENI Contract. The Safety Coaches will be mobilising from Blackpool and it will be for 6 months on a 2/2 rotation.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Safety Coach to join the team offshore, supporting construction and operations in a dynamic, high‑risk environment. This role is central to driving safety performance across active work fronts, ensuring the workforce is fully engaged, aware, and committed to safe working practices.

You will be a visible presence on deck, working closely with construction crews to reinforce safe behaviours, lead risk assessments, support hazard analysis, and promote a proactive safety culture aligned with operational standards.

  • Drive safety leadership across all work fronts through coaching, engagement, and behavioural influence.
  • Build strong relationships with construction teams to reinforce safe working practices and ensure task readiness.
  • Lead and support risk assessments, hazard identification, and task‑specific safety reviews.
  • Conduct on‑deck safety observations and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.
  • Support supervisors in maintaining safe systems of work and ensuring compliance with platform procedures.
  • Act as a key point of contact for safety concerns, escalating issues appropriately and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Champion a culture of safety ownership, encouraging open communication and workforce involvement.
  • Ensure all activities align with safety expectations, offshore legislation, and client HSE requirements.
  • Contribute to incident prevention through proactive intervention and hazard spotting.
  • Proven experience working offshore, ideally on platforms, jack‑ups, or marine construction assets.
  • Strong understanding of offshore safety standards, hazard controls, and operational risks.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills with the ability to influence diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessments, hazard analysis, and task planning.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying unsafe conditions or behaviours.
  • Confident working in a fast‑paced, high‑risk environment with a hands‑on coaching style.
  • Relevant offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, GWO, or equivalent).
