About the Role:

As our Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, you will play a hands-on role in supporting the delivery of best‑practice health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across The Lost Dogs’ Home. Reporting to the Director of Safety, Infrastructure and Projects, you will help embed proactive safety practices, assist managers with day‑to‑day WHS matters, and contribute to a strong, engaged safety culture. You will also oversee the administration of Workers’ Compensation and Return to Work programs, working closely with insurers, rehabilitation providers and managers to support safe, timely recovery and effective claims management.

Duties include:

  • Supporting strategic and operational planning
  • Ensuring WHS compliance, including a WHS audit program, incident investigations and analyses, and regular risk assessments
  • Implementing a culture of safety via strong relationships with key stakeholders and regular communication
  • Workers’ compensation management, including managing claims and RTW processes
  • Driving wellbeing initiatives that support harm minimisation and proactively manage psychosocial risks across the workplace

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in OH&S/WHS
  • Experience in a WHS related role, with experience in animal health, manufacturing, or hospital industry sector highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing health and safety management systems, education, and providing advice to managers and staff regarding best practice WHS matters
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant code(s) and legislative frameworks and their application
  • Thorough understanding of Workers Compensation and OH&S Legislation
  • A current driver's licence
  • A reasonable level of fitness and the ability to work in a physically demanding role
