Position Summary:

The Safety and Quality Consultant, working under general direction, manages and executes multiple departmental quality projects and safety initiatives. This role involves defining, planning, and managing all phases of assigned projects, ensuring timely completion of deliverables, supporting quality improvement measurement plans, and facilitating communication among stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under weekly guidance from the supervisor, manages multiple enterprise projects and initiatives and completes assigned project activities.
  • Defines, plans, and manages all phases of projects, including coordinating day-to-day project activities. Supports recruitment of project staff, establishes and maintains record-keeping systems, and organizes and facilitates project meetings. Gathers and maintains project documentation, including schedules, data requests, issue logs, project plans, communications, task assignments, and meeting materials. Works with the project team to track work, tasks, and assignments; monitors and adjusts project schedules and key deliverables; and maintains document control, databases, project tracking tools, and team communications.
  • Develop project-related deliverables with limited supervision, including process workflow diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, status reports, communication plans, meeting minutes, and project plans and timelines.
  • In collaboration with an analyst, develops and executes quality, safety, and improvement measurement plans. Identifies key processes and performance indicators; establishes baseline metrics; and develops and implements measurement plans. Tracks data needed to produce accurate run charts and other visualizations to monitor progress toward measurement goals. Partners with analysts to interpret results and presents data and findings in a variety of formats.
  • Composes, edits, and delivers clear written and verbal communications to internal and external stakeholders, senior leadership, and staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Performs basic quantitative and qualitative analysis and data coordination to support assigned projects and ensure objectives are met within agreed-upon timeframes. Provides data coordination and data entry support for departmental projects, performs data management activities, and serves as an internal resource on data coordination procedures.
  • Collaborates with senior staff and assists in the development and refinement of comprehensive project workflows and processes.
  • Provides education, guidance, and training to junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, or a related field.

Experience:

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A bachelor’s degree is accompanied by at least 2 years of experience in Quality & Safety, Performance Improvement, or Project Management. * OR,
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Quality & Safety, Performance Improvement, or Project Management if they do not possess a bachelor’s degree.
