Context & Environment

We are seeking an experienced Safety & Health Officer (SHO) to support our offshore production operations and drive a strong Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) culture across our assets.

Activities

  • Lead and support HSSE initiatives and campaigns.
  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Perform daily checks and reviews of the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
  • Assist the operations team, contractors, and vendors in developing Job Risk Assessments (JRAs) suited to specific work activities.
  • Conduct daily site monitoring and HSE surveillance.
  • Perform daily screening and maintain records in the USUA register.
  • Lead and support platform HSE programs (e.g., JOBS Program, Major Housekeeping Program, and Joint Safety Tour Program).
  • Facilitate HSSE briefings, training sessions, REX Sharing and committee meetings.
  • Manage and regularly update the Training Matrix.
  • Participate in emergency drills and safety audits.
  • Promote HSSE awareness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote and ensure implementation of the company’s 12 Golden Rules.
  • Promote the "Our Lives First" Program by ensuring full implementation of its three rituals: Safety Green Light, Life Saving Checks, and Joint Safety Tours.

Candidate Profile

What We're Looking For

Education

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Engineering or Science, or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental discipline o Registered Safety and Health Officer with DOSH Malaysia.

Experience

  • 5–10 years in occupational health, safety, or environmental roles within oil & gas o Exposure to Production Operations, Offshore/Onshore Construction, EPCIC, or Turnaround activities.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of OSH regulations and offshore safety practices o Leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Effective communicator across all organizational levels and with regulators.
  • Familiarity with HSSE systems and offshore operational environment.
