Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Safety Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Safety Analyst.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide proactive safety support to Toyota Mississippi. Areas of focus will include ergonomics, establishing robust safety standards and procedures, support of site operations in implementing regional and local safety initiatives, and monitoring progress toward KPI targets.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage and support risk reduction activities at Toyota Mississippi.

  • Identify ergonomic risks related to parts, equipment, elements, and processes, and recommend effective countermeasures.

  • Monitor and report on safety KPIs and compliance metrics, ensuring accurate tracking and alignment with organizational standards.

  • Support safety training programs (e.g., onboarding, SMS/SMP, OSHA, Dojo/VR training), including coordination, tracking completion, and continuous improvement.

  • Support incident management processes, including investigation, documentation (e.g., Cority), root cause analysis, and countermeasure development.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to address safety risks and implement risk reduction activity.

  • Support emerging technology safety integration, including risk assessments, kanbans, and safety improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate and participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities, including working groups, audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinate and promote safety culture initiatives (e.g., safety campaigns, Safety Month activities, shop-level engagement programs).

  • Provide safety support to plant operations (PC, QC, Bodyweld, Assembly, etc.), ensuring consistent application of standards and addressing shop-specific needs.

  • Drive standardization and communication of safety requirements, including change points, training updates, and cross-site alignment.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Occupational Safety & Health, Biomechanics, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, or equivalent degree.

  • Experience developing, implementing, and managing safety programs (safety-related responsibilities must comprise at least 75% of your responsibilities).

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Strong decision-making, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.

  • Experience working independently, can also be an effective team member.

  • Pro-active learner and open to constructive feedback.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects requiring critical thinking (kaizen), problem solving, data analysis & verification.

  • Capable of developing and delivering presentations, generating effective reports, conducting applicable standards research.

  • Ability to generate business plans and strategies appropriate to the work assigned at the business unit level.

What you may bring

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)/Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.

  • Master’s degree Occupational Safety & Health, Biomechanics, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, or equivalent degree.

  • OSHA 10 hour.

  • OSHA 30 hour.
