This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate safety professional to partner with operational leaders and employees to strengthen safety performance, ensure compliance, and foster a positive safety culture across our manufacturing and distribution operations.

If you're a hands-on safety professional who enjoys being on the floor, engaging with people, and driving practical safety outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Leadership Team, the Safety Advisor will play a key role in supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the site.

You will work closely with managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a safety-first culture, ensure legislative compliance, and proactively identify opportunities to improve workplace safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day WHS support and advice to operational teams
  • Promote and drive a positive safety culture across the site
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety systems and procedures
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions
  • Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in the development and review of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), and risk assessments
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Support injury management and return-to-work processes where required
  • Partner with site leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives

About You

  • Previous experience in a Safety Advisor, WHS Advisor, or Health & Safety Coordinator role
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, logistics, construction, or heavy industry environments
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and risk management principles
  • Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, audits, and risk assessments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence and build strong working relationships at all levels of the business
  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
  • Diploma in WHS or related qualification highly regarded
  • Return-to-Work Coordinator certification desirable
  • Current driver's licence

Why Join Metroll?

  • Join a well-established and respected Australian manufacturing business
  • Play a key role in shaping and improving safety performance
  • Work within a supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Opportunity to influence safety outcomes across a growing operation

At Metroll, safety is more than compliance—it's a core value. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help create a safer workplace for everyone.
