Job Description

Seymour Whyte is delivering Coomera Connector Stage 1 South, a key infrastructure project improving transport links between Logan City and the Gold Coast. By building additional crossings over the Coomera and Nerang Rivers, this stage will ease congestion on the M1 and provide residents in growing areas such as Helensvale and Coomera with an alternative route.

We are looking for a Safety Advisor to join our project team, supporting the safe and successful delivery of a major infrastructure project. In this role, you will coordinate and manage site safety risks, ensure compliance with company systems and legislation and champion a proactive safety culture. You will provide practical guidance to project teams, embed best practices into daily operations, and collaborate across the business to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes.

About the role:

  • Support the delivery of safe and compliant project outcomes
  • Mentor site teams and promote strong safety practices
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Provide practical safety advice to project teams and assist with safety plans
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legislation, and industry standards
  • Foster a proactive and transparent safety culture on site

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Relevant qualification in Work Health & Safety (Cert IV, Diploma or Degree)
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role (civil, construction or related industry)
  • Strong commitment to safety with a proactive, positive attitude
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships with site teams, management, clients and auditors
  • Sound knowledge of safety systems, plant operations and site practices
  • Experience in incident investigations (ICAM) and internal auditing
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
