Job Description

The Safety Administrator provides comprehensive administrative and safety support to the Safety Team and operational leaders. This role plays a key part in supporting the administration of safety systems, records management, safety‑related purchasing, inventory control, and compliance documentation, as well as assisting with inspections, audits, and training record management, as required.

Working collaboratively with safety and operational teams, the Safety Administrator supports the consistent application of best safety practices and contributes to the promotion of a strong, organization‑wide safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the maintenance and continuous improvement of safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Support and maintain safety information systems and document control across safety platforms, including incident, inspection, and compliance records
  • Support the maintenance and tracking of training and competency records
  • Coordinate safetyrelated purchasing and inventory activities in accordance with established systems and processes
  • Maintain inventory of safety equipment, drug and alcohol program materials, and other safety supplies; monitor usage and coordinate replenishment
  • Provide support in organizing and promoting safety initiatives, programs, and awareness activities within the organization
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post‑secondary education in Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Previous experience in an administrative and/or safety support role considered an asset
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), including the ability to manage spreadsheets, reports, and document libraries
  • Familiarity with safety and contractor management systems (e.g., ISNetworld) and ERP or procurement tools (e.g., JD Edwards, Bottomline) considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records while managing multiple priorities in a structured environment
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment
