Division: Finance

Location:Pretoria

REPORTS TO

Regional Finance Director – South Africa or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time.

PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE

To run the payroll in compliance with statutory and contractual obligations and to record and remit all 3rd party payments timeously and accurately for Regional Africa

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Payroll
  • Administer and process payroll for all employees, ensuring absolute accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with SA tax laws and relevant legislation
  • Capture, validate and reconcile payroll data
  • Maintaining accurate employee records
  • Prepare and submit payroll month end reports and stats
  • Address payroll related queries from employees
  • Manage the payroll system
  • Identify and recommend payroll process improvements and implement automation tools
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Month-end
  • Prepare all salary payments to balance as per the recon
  • Prepare all salary invoices
  • Recons (PAYE, SDL, UIF, EMP201, and EMP501, garnishees, medical aid, all insurances and pension fund)
  • Monthly UIF Declaration
  • Preparing BST reports to validate that all data are correct
  • Prepare the BST salary journal
  • Prepare the salary invoices to Namibia and Lesotho
  • Preparing all month end reports for Namibia and Lesotho
  • Preparing all payments on recons
  • Perform full tax year end function (annually) as well as half yearly submission to SARS
  • ROE submission (annually)
  • Administration
  • Filing of employee information on personnel files
  • Ensuring all staff receive their payslips monthly in time

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12
  • 3-year relevant diploma or degree would be ideal
  • Advanced excel skills
  • In-depth knowledge of SA payroll regulations, tax- and labour laws
  • Extensive knowledge of Sage People 300
  • Understanding of company policies and procedures applicable to the work environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
