The Mechanical Engineering Technician provides hands-on technical support to the mechanical engineering team in the design, development, testing, and production of fire apparatus systems. This role bridges engineering design and manufacturing by translating engineering concepts into detailed drawings, prototypes, and validated mechanical solutions. The position supports mechanical sub-systems throughout the full product lifecycle—from concept and prototype through production launch and field support. The Engineer Technician applies mechanical fundamentals, CAD modeling, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, serviceable, and compliant with customer and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with engineers, production teams, suppliers, and quality to resolve mechanical issues and continuously improve product performance.
