Job Description
The
RSA Archer Specialist
will support the Texas Health and Human Services Commission on the RSA Archer Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) implementation project. This role is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting enterprise RSA Archer GRC solutions. The analyst works closely with Information Security, Data Privacy, Risk Management, Compliance, and system stakeholders to deliver scalable, user-friendly Archer applications that enable assessment, authorization, control assurance, issue management, and continuous compliance monitoring. The position operates independently on complex assignments while collaborating across cross-functional technical and business teams. The analyst ensures Archer solutions align with organizational governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and security control requirements.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, configure, and maintain RSA Archer solutions, including Assessment and Authorization, Controls Assurance Program Management, Issues Management, custom applications, and system integrations.
Perform detailed business and functional requirements gathering and analysis, and translate requirements into solution designs, configuration specifications, user stories, and implementation plans.
Configure and customize Archer applications including questionnaires, forms, workflows, approvals, calculations, data relationships, access controls, role-based permissions, and automated data feeds.
Develop and integrate RESTful and web services to enable API connectivity between Archer and external enterprise systems such as ITSM, CMDB, or risk platforms.
Implement client-side logic, validations, and dynamic behaviors using JavaScript and jQuery within Archer applications.
Produce and maintain technical documentation covering system design, configuration, integration specifications, testing plans, change requests, and project management artifacts.
Utilize project management and tracking tools to monitor development progress, deliverables, risks, and milestones.
Follow established change management, release management, and governance processes for all deployments to production environments.
Provide troubleshooting, defect resolution, and performance optimization for Archer applications.
Support end-user adoption through knowledge transfer, training materials, and solution walkthroughs.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of experience with a valid Archer Certified Professional (ACP) certification or a Level 3 Archer Certified Administrator – Expert Certification.
10 years of experience supporting large enterprise or government GRC implementations.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC, or regulatory compliance programs.
Experience integrating Archer with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.

Must currently reside within 50 miles of the Austin, Texas work location.
Candidates for this position will be subject to a pre-employment security review to determine employment eligibility.
Work Location and Schedule
Location: 701 W. 51st Street, Austin, Texas 78751
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays.
Work Arrangement: 100% On Site - No Remote Work
