MKRS Grounds Section Tender

Primary Responsibilities: Clean, trim, weed, water and maintain grass and plants at private residences. Clean and care for walkways, lanais and other outside areas. Check irrigation regularly to insure proper working order, report any defects or may make minor repairs. Is responsible for the proper use, maintenance and care of tools and equipment. Responsible for the growth and care of ornamental plants, trees and grass. Trim small trees and shrubs. Perform other simple duties related to the landscaping or grounds maintenance for private residences. Must be able to communicate with the homeowners regarding the yard maintenance and service.

Essential Duties

  1. Clean, trim, weed, water and maintain grass and plants at contracted private residences.
  2. Clean and care for walkways, lanais, and other outside areas.
  3. Responsible for the growth and care or ornamental plants, trees, and grass.
  4. Trim small trees and shrubs using hand or power equipment.
  5. Plant or remove grass, ground cover, and plants.
  6. Operate vehicle or cart and pick-up trash or debris.
  7. Check irrigation regularly to insure proper working order; make minor repairs or report problems.
  8. Responsible for the proper use and maintenance and care of tools and equipment.
  9. May care for indoor plant rentals when applicable.
  10. Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
  11. Perform duties following safety procedures and policies.
  12. Assist in special projects.
  13. Secure the residence after service.
  14. Communicate with homeowners and refer inquires to manager.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Other Duties

  1. Assist other position in the department.
  2. Insure all equipment is returned at the end of the day, cleaned and in working order.

Working Conditions:

  1. Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  2. Travel to various homes throughout the resort.

Work Hours:

  1. Must be able to work shift and days determined by the manager.
  2. Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week, when needed.

Equipment Use:

  1. Utility vehicle to travel to work area.
  2. Various landscape maintenance hand tools such as sickle, lopper, hoe, shovel, rake, pruner, knife, ladder, sprayer, fertilizer spreader, wrench, pliers, weeding tools, trash cart, wheel barrow.
  3. Various power equipment such as lawn mowers, weedeater, edger, blower, power saw, and hedge trimmer.

Mental and Physical Demands:

  1. Ability to work outdoors in the sun and/or wind for most of shift.
  2. Able to walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel for most of shift.
  3. Able to use hand and power tools during most of shift.
  4. Able to do strenuous physical work such as trimming, digging or planting.
  5. Lift, carry, push/pull equipment, tools, plants or trash weighing up to 50 lbs.

Communication Demands:

  1. Must have the ability to communicate verbally to employees, manager, homeowners and guests.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  1. Valid Driver’s license; license required to operate company vehicle/equipment
  2. Safely operate vehicles
