RQ11173 - Sr. IT Enterprise Architect/Strategist

6-month contract (131 business days) - possible extension

ONSITE 5 days - Street

HM is looking for an Enterprise Solution Architect/Strategist - not application/solution architects.

Must-haves:

  • 15+ years of experience as an architect - working on various platforms.
  • Provide architecture support to delivery teams across assigned projects and initiatives, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards and TSA.
  • Conduct technology assessments and fit-gap analyses to evaluate solution options and recommend optimal approaches
  • Create and maintain architecture roadmaps that support program and project objectives while advancing enterprise alignment.
  • Develops recommends, implements and manages IT Enterprise Architecture (EA) strategy and architect deliverables for the organization
  • Provide analysis, development and evaluation of new government-wide modernization strategies, plans and TSA direction, to identify needs for new technology and architecture standards and guidelines.
  • Contribute to EA standards and artifacts templates where required, based on lessons learned from project delivery and emerging needs.
  • Contribute to the creation of enterprise-wide enterprise architecture standards and guidelines to support standardized practices, unify technologies, common technology stacks, share frameworks, methodologies, and patterns.
  • Identify enterprise platforms, products, and technology stacks using common patterns and services that leverage a modular/composable architecture approach for standardization.
  • Ability to deal with various stakeholders
  • strong technical background - however, this is not an application/solution architecture role.
  • Ability to create policy and standards from a organization's perspective.
  • Understanding of EA frameworks, platform and products
  • Provide hands-on Enterprise Architecture consulting and advisory services to delivery teams across a portfolio of initiatives, supporting the design, planning, and implementation of technology solutions aligned with Target State Architecture (TSA)
  • Lead and execute architecture activities required for delivery, including technology assessments, fit-gap analyses, architecture development, roadmap creation, and production of architecture artifacts.
  • Support informed decision-making by providing practical, delivery-focused architecture recommendations that balance innovation, risk, cost, and scalability.
  • Contribute to and support the planning, design, delivery, implementation, and ongoing development of enterprise architecture practice and standards to enable TSA objectives, inform architecture governance decisions, and promote technology standardization across the organization, while ensuring alignment with broader organizational and government priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of Enterprise Architecture
  • Knowledge and experience in Application architecture, Technology Architecture, Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Demonstrated Strategic thinking and development, aligns strategic objectives with technology and resources
  • Ability to define business capabilities and processes
  • Experience providing direction on operationalizing business strategy including systems, processes and required data.
  • Demonstrated Transformation thinking, and understanding of data interdependencies
  • Experience identifying technology risks and mitigations
  • Experience developing IT strategy aligned with business vision
  • Ability to streamline application landscape for optional performance, decommission redundancy and reduce cost
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; presentation skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Stakeholder Engagement including presentations and briefing notes and conducting / facilitating meetings
  • Experience and knowledge in Project Management
