RPN/RN - Foot Care Nurse

1 FTE Contract to March 31, 2028

One of a network provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.

We are currently seeking 1FTE RPN/RN Foot Care Nurse, who as a valued member of the Community Health Centre team, will provide foot care services and support the delivery of care to HART Hub clients. The successful candidate will also contribute to the provision of primary care services for the individuals we serve, with a strong emphasis on disease prevention, health promotion, client education, and empowerment.

The position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario’s Pension Plan and an excellent group health benefits package.

The pay range for this position is $72,039 to $83,187 per year for Registered Nurse (RN) and $53,111 to $63,986 per year for Registered Practical Nurse (RPN). Compensation will commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Foot Care Nurse.
• Certification in Basic and Advanced Foot Care is required to perform clinical activities in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards for nursing practice.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in current nursing procedures, nursing assessments, physical assessments, and treatment interventions.
• Experience working with individuals who are underhoused and those with current or past substance use concerns, requiring support with complex care needs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team environment.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize professional assessment skills to identify the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of clients.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues affecting individuals who face barriers to accessing care, including those who are underhoused, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, have current or past substance use concerns, complex health histories, are members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, are newcomers, or are uninsured.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing culturally safe, client-centered, and equitable care.
• Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
