In your job you will work for the offshore energy division. Make your mark as ROV Supervisor (Offshore) at Boskalis Offshore Energy Fleet Management ROV Department. You will be accountable for the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of remotely operated subsea tasks from the vessel. This leadership role involves supervising ROV pilots and senior pilots, coordinating live operations and ensuring that all activities are executed in line with project plans, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.

As the primary operational focal point during ROV missions, the Supervisor provides technical guidance, ensures mission readiness, oversees shift performance, and escalates any operational risks or anomalies. The role is safety-critical and aligned with IMCA C005 Job Category R01 – ROV Supervisor. Competence must be demonstrated and maintained in accordance with the Boskalis Competence Management Scheme.

Your responsibilities as a ROV Supervisor:

The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to;

  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise all ROV activities during assigned shift operations, ensuring safe and effective execution.
  • Oversee the piloting and operation of inspection / light Work-Class ROV systems including associated tooling and sensors to support the safe and efficient execution of inspection, survey, maintenance, and light intervention scopes.
  • Ensure operational compliance with project work packs, client specifications, company procedures, and applicable IMCA guidance.
  • Review execution plans, pre-dive checklists, system readiness verifications, and operational reporting documentation.
  • Monitor ROV system status, telemetry, and video feeds; for diagnostics and issue resolution possible in consolidation with the Base.

Qualifications

You can make your mark as an ROV Supervisor if you have:

  • A minimum of 5 years ROV experience.
  • At least 180 days’ operational time as a Senior Pilot/Technician (IMCA R02)
  • Demonstrated leadership of ROV operations, including shift supervision, task planning, and coordination
  • Proven track record of piloting and overseeing complex subsea operations such as intervention, tooling deployment, and inspection tasks
  • IMCA ROV Supervisor logbook with verifiable entries evidencing supervisory responsibilities and digital operations exposure
  • Technical Qualification: Diploma or degree in marine, mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering (preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: High level of competence in ROV systems, subsea tooling, fault-finding, and inspection methodology.
  • Competence: IMCA-recognised Competence Certificate or Portfolio for ROV Supervisor (R01).
  • Communication & Coordination: excellent communication skills across dispersed teams and shift patterns.
  • Decision-Making & Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure and adapt to dynamic offshore scenarios.
  • All modules GWO or OPITO approved BOSIET with CA-EBS, and OEUK Medical (including Bi-Deltoid shoulder measurements).
  • High voltage certification / awareness training (preferred).
  • Experienced with Plant Maintenance Systems (marad) (preferred).

Extra information

  • Your team: you will report to the ROV Manager with the following Direct Reports: ROV Pilot Technician Trainees, ROV Pilot Technician and ROV Senior Pilot Technician.
  • Where you will work: You will mainly work offshore on one of the systems and occasionally ad hoc you will work in the base for maintenance / preparing the ROV systems for a project.
  • Full/part- time job: The position of ROV Supervisoris a permanent role and will be offered on a Guaranteed Days Contract basis.
