Watkins Distributing is a family-owned and operated beverage distribution company that has proudly served the communities of Idaho and Montana for four generations.


The Route Sales Representative is responsible for managing beverage sales and merchandising activities within an assigned territory.

The sales territory includes Bellevue, Hailey, and Ketchum.

Compensation is based on experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow beverage sales within an assigned territory by servicing existing accounts and building new customer relationships.
  • Present and sell the company's full product portfolio to both current and prospective customers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and open new retail accounts within the territory.
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and ensure products are properly stocked and available for consumers.
  • Build, replenish, and maintain displays, coolers, and point-of-sale materials in line with company merchandising standards.
  • Use mobile devices and company software to enter orders, track inventory, complete surveys, and keep accurate account records.
  • Operate hand trucks and other manual equipment to transport and merchandise products.
  • Safely handle beverage products, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling cases and kegs.
  • Rotate products to ensure freshness, quality, and proper inventory management.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships while addressing product or service concerns as they arise.
  • Execute sales programs, promotions, and merchandising objectives as directed.
  • Stay current on company products, industry trends, and new product offerings.
  • Comply with all alcohol regulations, company policies, and safety requirements.
  • Follow proper lifting techniques and all company safety procedures.
  • Complete assigned responsibilities accurately and efficiently within established performance expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

  • Prior beverage sales experience preferred.
  • Solid product and industry knowledge with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of professionalism and accountability.
  • Adaptable and resourceful with solid problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no major violations.
  • Must be able to regularly lift, move, and merchandise beverage cases weighing 20–30 lbs. Duties include frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work is performed independently across multiple retail locations with travel between customer accounts throughout the day.
