Job Purpose

DHL Global Forwarding Sri Lanka is looking for an experienced Route Development Manager based in China to lead the development of the trade lanes between China and Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. This role will drive trade growth, optimize network performance, strengthen strategic carrier partnerships, and develop competitive logistics solutions across the region.

Key Tasks

· Lead all product trade and CN - LK, PK & BD route development management activities.

· Guide countries on trade and route development management

· Ensure providing allocation and reservations of freight on planned linehaul required for hub and operations performance

· Ensure the development and implementation of products for various customers and products

· Lead the development of OFR, AFR, CDZ and IWS and trade and route development management plans and budgets, and the achievement of productivity targets

· Ensure, that customer and shipping company requirements and service, cost and budgetary guidelines are met

· Direct the development and maintenance of databases with specific information to enable quick responses to specific network queries

· Build and secure business relationships with customers and shipping companies, air lines,

· Ensure the preparation of carrier performance reports and reviews

· Periodically review processes and systems to enhance service quality and alignment with company’s direction and long-term goals

· Explore alternatives to enhance services and processes to secure cost-effective and competitive products and negotiate competitive rates with shipping companies while meeting desired service specifications and transit time targets.

· Oversee recent developments of new solutions, services, lane and traffic development

• Analyze complex issues, benchmark, identify opportunities and introduce best practices for OFR, AFR trade and route development management focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain management, or product and trade development.
• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Outstanding communication skills
