Job Description

Salary range: £44,685 - £48,003 p.a. inc. London weighting (plus fantastic benefits!)

Contract: Fixed - Term - until 31st March 2027

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Brent Civic Centre, Turning Point, & other locations as required.

The Post

One of the Government’s main priorities is to ensure that all forms of homelessness and rough sleeping is reduced. At Brent Council, we are very committed and passionate about this.

We have received funding from Ministry of, Housing, Communities and Local Government for a full time Rough Sleeper Navigator positions to work with rough sleepers to navigate pathways for a life away from the streets. The post holder will act as a single point of contact for rough sleepers and work with this client group in a person-centred way to ensure sustainable outcomes around housing are achieved.

The successful candidate will be given varied and comprehensive development opportunities and work with multiple services both internal and external to alleviate homelessness and provide customers with positive options and outcomes whilst managing customers’ expectations.

The Person

• We are looking for an exceptional empathetic team player who has the skills and qualities that are needed to transform and rebuild the lives of men and women who are sleeping rough for a long time or are trapped in a cycle of repeat rough sleeping.

• Someone who is motivated and naturally caring in nature and who has an interest in supporting individuals who have a history unstable, short term housing situations.

• As part of our expanded Rough Sleepers and Support Team, you will engage positively and persistently with rough sleepers to build their trust and help them to obtain housing suited to their needs.

• You will be passionate and dedicated to helping people, not afraid to go above and beyond to get the best outcome and be forward thinking and creative.

• You will be an excellent communicator and able to talk to people of all backgrounds and disseminate complex information in a way that is easy to understand.

• You will be able to work under pressure and manage a busy workload, able to prioritise and organise your work so that customer care is never compromised.
