Schedule: Rotating schedule alongside a second nanny. 8-hour days beginning at 6:15 AM, with a mid-day break between the school drop-off and after-school blocks. Includes 7–10 overnight stays per month and two weekends per month.
Position Overview
A family in Rye, New York is seeking an experienced House Manager/Nanny to support three children ages 7, 6, and 4. This is a dual role — hands-on childcare during the morning and after-school blocks, with household management during the mid-day hours while the children are at school. It is primarily live-out with a sleep-in component: the nanny stays overnight 7–10 nights per month and otherwise returns home at the end of the day. Hours rotate with a second nanny so the family has continuous coverage.
The home is fully staffed with a second nanny, housekeeping, and weekend coverage. The House Manager/Nanny is the day-to-day point of coordination for household operations and keeps the children's routines, the calendar, and the home running smoothly. The family does not have a tutor on staff and is seeking someone who can personally tutor the children at an elementary level. Spanish is a plus, not a requirement.
The family travels frequently — roughly six weeks away followed by six weeks at home — and the nanny travels with them, with schedules varying on the road. Summers include stays in France and Nantucket, so a valid passport is required. The family is looking for someone deeply dedicated to their household — a career professional who is fully invested in the children, flexible with the family's rhythm, and committed to staying long term.
