Job Description

Position: Live-In/Rotational RN or CNA

A private client in Tequesta, FL is seeking a compassionate, experienced RN or CNA to provide attentive and respectful care for an 87-year-old gentleman with mild dementia. This is a 7-days-on/7-days-off rotational position ideal for a caregiver who understands the importance of balancing attentive support with allowing the client appropriate independence and personal space.

The ideal candidate will be warm, observant, patient, and able to naturally read the room. The client appreciates companionship when desired but also values his independence and quiet time. A calm, respectful approach and the ability to build trust gradually will be essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, attentive care and companionship
• Assist with dressing, bathing, grooming, and other activities of daily living as the client becomes comfortable with assistance
• Provide mobility support and appropriate fall-risk awareness; client uses a walker and cane
• Drive the client to medical appointments and other necessary outings
• Communicate regularly and effectively with family regarding the client's needs, routines, and overall well-being
• Prepare simple, light meals
• Perform light household tidying related to the client
• Provide light care for the family dog as needed
• Encourage independence while remaining attentive to safety and changing needs
• Maintain a calm, organized, and supportive environment

Qualifications

• Current RN or CNA certification required
• Prior experience caring for seniors, preferably those with dementia or memory-related challenges
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Excellent communication skills and sound judgment

Family Dynamic

The client's son lives next door and is actively involved in his father's care. He is happy to continue providing support and assistance as needed. The successful candidate will collaborate with the family while leading day-to-day caregiving responsibilities during their scheduled rotation.

Salary: $130k + DOE and a possible health stipend
