For every child, the right to Health

Madagascar has been declared free of wild poliovirus for several years. However, the country remains at risk of the re-emergence of circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVDPV). Despite the official interruption of cVDPV1 transmission declared by the WHO African Region in May 2025, surveillance and population immunity indicators have continued to show significant vulnerabilities in several districts of the country.

How can you make a difference?

  1. Updating cold chain inventories and assessing storage capacities
  2. Support for quantifying needs and developing the distribution plan for Round 1
  3. Training of vaccine managers and logisticians
  4. Supervision of Round 1 implementation
  5. Post-campaign inventory and stock reconciliation for Round 1
  6. Evaluation of Round 1 implementation
  7. Daily monitoring of stock levels and vaccine availability
  8. Support for quantifying needs and developing the distribution plan
  9. Supervision of Round 2
  10. Post-campaign inventory and stock reconciliation

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Advanced university degree in health logistics, pharmacy, public health, supply chain management, biomedical engineering, or a relevant discipline
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in vaccine and cold chain management, proven experience in polio response and SIA (Supplementary Immunization Activity) campaigns and OPV/bOPV/nOPV2 vaccines.
  • Skills: Proficiency in WHO/GPEI vaccine management tools, strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, ODK, and eSMT.
  • Language Requirements: French Fluency is required and knowledge of Malagasy and English is an Asset.

Desirables:

  • Professional experience in analysis, management, and skills transfer.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious, effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
