Job Description

YMCA Camp Classen is seeking energetic, safety-minded individuals to join our team as Ropes Course Facilitators. Nestled in the Arbuckle Mountains of Davis, Oklahoma, our 2200-acre camp offers a unique outdoor setting for challenge course programming, team building, and personal growth experiences for youth and groups of all ages.

As a Ropes Course Facilitator, you'll guide participants through high and low ropes elements and team-building initiatives. No prior ropes course experience necessary. All training and certifications are provided.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Strong communication and group management skills
  • Comfort working at heights and in a harness
  • Good judgment, flexibility, and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups in a warm, positive manner
  • Willingness to take on varied tasks that support the program
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Ability to climb, harness in, and physically assist participants as needed

PREFERRED

  • Challenge course / ropes facilitation experience
  • CPR & First Aid certification or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Experience with team-building curriculum
  • Comfort with public speaking and facilitating group debriefs

Employment Details

  • Position is hourly, on a seasonal or year-round basis depending on program needs
  • Flexible scheduling, including weekdays, weekends, and evening groups
  • Exact schedule and hours determined based on group bookings

Compensation and Amenities

  • $15.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Pay is every two weeks, consistent with the YMCA of Greater OKC pay schedule
  • Staff shirts provided
  • All training and certification costs and time are paid for
