Job Description

Position Summary:

The candidate we seek is a dedicated and detail-oriented Room Attendant to join our Housekeeping Department. This position is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our 252-room high-occupancy AAA Four Diamond Hotel Casino Resort. The ideal candidate will also perform cross-functional duties as a Laundry Attendant, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for our guests.

In this Role:

  • Clean and service guest rooms according to established standards and procedures.
  • Make beds, change linens, and replenish amenities as needed.
  • Clean bathrooms, dust and polish furniture, vacuum carpets, and remove trash.
  • Inspect rooms for maintenance issues and report any needed repairs.
  • Ensure guest rooms are well-stocked with essential supplies and amenities.
  • Must maintain an organized, properly stocked, Attendant’s cart at all times.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment to clean and press linens, towels, and uniforms.
  • Sort, fold, and distribute clean linens to appropriate storage areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary.
  • Ensure all laundry areas are clean and organized, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Inspect linens and towels for wear and tear and remove damaged items from circulation.
  • Follow all safety and operational guidelines to ensure efficient and effective laundry operations.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Handle guest complaints and issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist with any special requests or additional tasks as assigned by the housekeeping supervisor or manager.
  • Work closely with other housekeeping staff to ensure timely and efficient room turnover.
  • Collaborate with other housekeeping Team Members to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Participate in team huddles and training sessions to stay updated on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Commit to ongoing education and training to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrate initiative in taking on additional responsibilities and projects to support resort operations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, laundry, or a similar role preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Ability to lift/carry heavy loads 30 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to read, write, and input room status data into issued handhelds.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
  • Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.

Work Conditions:

Work is typically and mostly in hotel guest rooms and in housekeeping back-of-house areas. Work areas may be warm, cold, humid, noisy, or bright and may contain second-hand smoke. Tasks may be required to be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
