Job Description

Located on the unspoilt south-eastern coast of Mauritius, Constance Le Chaland offers a unique workplace in a preserved natural environment. • To look after guest safety, and address any guest issues as quickly as possible, ensuring that they are completely happy with the work done.
• To complete activities on the preventive maintenance schedule as specified in hotel plans.
• To look after all the tools supplied by the Hotel in a professional manner, and correctly maintain and deposit them after finishing the shift.
• To perform engineering work in the guest room like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including all lighting fittings, sockets and A/C systems.
• To test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment in the guest room.
• To Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
• To carry out specific oral and written instructions.
• To perform other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer.
• To clean all work areas after finishing the tasks properly.
• To follow all safety procedures while carrying out any tasks.
• To maintain effective communication with the Shift Leader at all times.
• To actively participate in the energy conservation programs of the Hotel.
• To utilize or recommend usage of all environmentally-friendly products in the work place.
• To suggest cost saving ideas as and when possible, not limited to the Engineering Department.

Qualifications

Qualification:

• Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus.

Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel industry.

• Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus.

Technical skills:

• Knowledge of operation of equipments and the job.

• Ability to find fault and rectify subsystems.

• Ability to work in a fast environement.

• Able to adapt to unpredictable events.

• Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication.
