As a Room Attendant, you are a valuable member of the housekeeping team, responsible for ensuring guest rooms are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. You will take pride in delivering well-prepared, comfortable rooms while paying close attention to detail.

You will work both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a professional and courteous approach when interacting with guests and supporting their needs where required.

Duties

  • Clean guest rooms, storage areas, and corridors to the required standard as allocated.
  • Replenish guest supplies and bathroom/room amenities in line with room type standards.
  • Report any lost property in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Carry out scheduled and routine cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Handle guest laundry in compliance with hotel policy.
  • Use, clean, and maintain equipment properly, reporting any faults as per procedure.
  • Ensure all departmental equipment is kept in good working condition.
  • Assist with regular stocktakes of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain security of keys and guest rooms at all times, following all security procedures. Report any suspicious activity or items to a supervisor.
  • Follow correct usage, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals in accordance with health and safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role (such as Room Attendant, Cleaner, or Housekeeping Attendant) is preferred
  • Possess a warm, friendly, and professional communication style, ensuring guests and team members feel comfortable and welcomed
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently, manage time effectively, and take pride in delivering high-quality room presentation
  • Physically fit and adaptable, with the ability to work in a variety of environments including guest rooms, corridors, and service areas, involving tasks such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing
