Rotational (e.g., 42 days on/21 days off)
Reporting To:
Chief Engineer / Engine Room Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
1. Engine Room Operations Support
·
Assist in
monitoring
and maintaining
all engine room equipment:
o
Main engines
(CAT, Wartsila, or MaK diesels)
o
Generators & switchgear
(power distribution)
o
Pumps & compressors
(cooling, fuel, bilge, air systems)
o
Purifiers & separators
(fuel and lube oil treatment)
2. Routine Maintenance & Inspections
·
Perform
daily checks
(oil
levels, temperatures, pressures)
·
Assist in
preventive maintenance
(filter
changes, greasing, minor repairs)
·
Maintain
engine room logbooks
and
report abnormalities
3. Safety & Compliance
·
Follow
Qatar Energy (QP) safety
procedures
and
Permit-to-Work (PTW)
system
·
Participate in
emergency drills
(engine
room fires, blackout scenarios)
·
Ensure
cleanliness
to prevent
oil spills/slip hazards
4. Stores & Inventory
·
Assist in
spare parts management
and
tool inventory
·
Support
bunkering operations
(fuel/lube
oil transfer)
Qualifications & Certifications
Mandatory:
·
2+ years
experience in engine room operations (marine/offshore
preferred)
·
BOSIET/FOET with HUET
(Offshore Survival & Helicopter
Escape)
·
Qatar Ministry of Public Health Medical
Certificate
Preferred:
·
STCW certification
(Marine Engine Room Rating)
·
HVAC/R experience
(for auxiliary systems)
·
Basic electrical knowledge
(advantage for monitoring systems)
