Role Summary

We are seeking analytical, strategic, and intellectually curious professionals to join our Commercial Insights & Analytics organization. These opportunities may span commercial analytics, market research, forecasting, business assessment, strategic insights, marketing analytics, portfolio strategy, and competitive intelligence.

Successful candidates will serve as trusted business partners, delivering objective, data-driven insights that help inform strategic decisions, identify growth opportunities, evaluate business performance, and guide investment priorities. By leveraging customer, market, competitive, and financial insights, individuals in these roles help shape commercial strategy and support decision-making across brands, portfolios, products, and enterprise initiatives.

These positions require a combination of analytical rigor, business acumen, storytelling ability, and cross-functional collaboration. Depending on level and scope, candidates may lead market research initiatives, build forecast models, conduct strategic business assessments, support go-to-market decisions, evaluate investment opportunities, or provide ongoing commercial insights to marketing and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Analytics & Strategic Assessment

  • Conduct analyses that support business strategy, commercial planning, investment decisions, and portfolio prioritization.
  • Evaluate market opportunities, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and business performance.
  • Develop analytical frameworks, forecasts, and business cases that inform short-term and long-term decision making.
  • Synthesize information from multiple data sources to create objective assessments and strategic recommendations.
  • Support trade-off analyses and scenario planning across competing opportunities and strategic priorities.
  • Deliver decision-ready recommendations to business and marketing leaders.

Market Research & Customer Insights

  • Design and execute qualitative and quantitative market research programs.
  • Identify key business questions and translate them into actionable research plans.
  • Gather customer, stakeholder, and market insights through primary and secondary research methodologies.
  • Integrate customer perspectives, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence into business recommendations.
  • Partner with research vendors and external agencies to execute studies and deliver strategic insights.
  • Develop clear narratives that translate complex findings into actionable business implications.

Forecasting & Business Modeling

  • Build, maintain, and enhance commercial forecast models, business cases, and scenario analyses.
  • Analyze market size, customer demand, adoption trends, pricing dynamics, and revenue opportunities.
  • Apply analytical methodologies to support business planning and investment evaluation.
  • Assess risk, uncertainty, and key assumptions to support informed decision making.
  • Ensure analytical approaches are rigorous, transparent, and supported by reliable data sources.
  • Communicate assumptions, risks, and opportunities clearly to stakeholders.

Strategic Insights & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends, market developments, customer behavior, and competitive activity.
  • Develop integrated views of market opportunities and business challenges.
  • Identify emerging trends and strategic implications for the business.
  • Conduct situation analyses that support lifecycle planning, portfolio strategy, and growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate external opportunities and changing market conditions that may affect business performance.
  • Deliver proactive thought leadership to support strategic planning efforts.

Data Integration & Advanced Analytics

  • Leverage multiple data sources, including market research, syndicated data, secondary research, customer data, financial information, and industry intelligence.
  • Apply analytical techniques to uncover meaningful patterns and insights.
  • Support data-driven decision making through dashboards, reporting, and analytical storytelling.
  • Utilize modern analytical tools and technologies to improve efficiency and insight generation.
  • Ensure all analyses are traceable, accurate, and supported by appropriate methodologies.

Artificial Intelligence & Innovation

  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance research, analysis, forecasting, reporting, and insight generation.
  • Apply AI capabilities responsibly while validating outputs for accuracy, reliability, and bias.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation and emerging technologies.
  • Stay informed on innovations in analytics, market research, forecasting, and commercial decision support.
  • Promote best practices for responsible and effective use of AI-driven insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with marketing, commercial, medical, market access, finance, research and development, strategy, and business operations teams.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions and align stakeholders around key findings and recommendations.
  • Influence decision making through objective analysis and clear communication.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a complex, matrixed environment.

Communication & Executive Storytelling

  • Develop executive-ready presentations, reports, and recommendation materials.
  • Translate complex analyses into concise, compelling, and actionable insights.
  • Present findings to stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Create clear narratives that connect market evidence, business implications, and recommended actions.
  • Support strategic discussions with fact-based recommendations and objective perspectives.

Leadership Responsibilities (Depending on Level)

  • Lead high-impact analytics, forecasting, or market research initiatives.
  • Guide cross-functional teams through complex strategic projects.
  • Manage agency, consulting, and research vendor relationships.
  • Mentor and develop teammates and junior colleagues.
  • Influence organizational strategy through thought leadership and analytical expertise.
  • Drive a culture of curiosity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Life Sciences, Market Research, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Commercial analytics

  • Forecasting

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical-thinking capabilities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tools.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and navigate complex business environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Market Research, Analytics, Life Sciences, Public Health, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, or other data-intensive industries.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative market research.
  • Experience with forecasting, valuation modeling, business case development, or scenario planning.
  • Familiarity with data visualization, programming, or analytics tools such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience managing research vendors, consulting partners, or agency relationships.
  • Knowledge of competitive intelligence and strategic planning methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled analytical tools and workflows.
  • Experience presenting findings to senior leadership teams.
