Rolling Stock Engineer – Heavy Maintenance (3 nos.)

Reporting To Manager

Position Type Permanent

Purpose of JOB:

Our client is looking for a highly skilled RST Engineer to join our RST - Heavy Maintenance sub-system. This is a safety-critical role requiring an experienced professional to oversee the complex overhaul and maintenance of our passenger train fleet.

Education & Candidate Profile

  • Educational Level: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Age Bracket: 25–45 years old.
  • Technical Keywords: Rolling Stock Engineer, Traction, Auxiliary Power, HVAC, and Traction Motor Overhaul.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Industry Experience Minimum 8 years in Rolling Stock Maintenance, with at least 3 years focused on major overhauls.
  • Maintenance Management Proven experience in overhaul maintenance management for Electrical Equipment, Traction Motors, and HVAC systems.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret As-built, Schematic, and Electrical drawings; expertise in operating HVAC and Traction motor test benches.
  • Administrative & Training Skilled in preparing procedures, SOPs, and technical reports (Trainer/Assessor certification is an advantage).
  • Soft Skills & Systems Strong communication skills and experience using MMS tools for work order management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Safety: Ensure all rolling stock maintenance team activities meet strict safety requirements and operational needs.
  • Documentation: Establish and maintain the technical documentation required for passenger train maintenance.
  • Planning & Quality Control: Execute maintenance scheduling according to the MMS Plan and audit the completion and quality of work to ensure zero incidents.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a culture focused on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service within the team.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work on shifts and irregular hours as required.
