Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Depot Design and Commissioning: Oversee the planning, design, and commissioning of maintenance depots, test tracks, and training facilities.

  • Operational Readiness Planning: Develop and implement strategies to prepare for the start of commercial operations.

  • Technical Review and Advice: Review tender documents, technical proposals, and designs related to rolling stock and depot systems.

  • Maintenance Strategy Development: Formulate maintenance plans for rolling stock, including predictive and preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Interface Management: Coordinate interfaces between the depot/rolling stock and other railway systems (signaling, track, power supply).

  • Human Resource Development: Create training programs and build capacity for O&M personnel.

  • Safety and Compliance: Verify that operations comply with safety standards, regulations, and certifications.

  • Technical Investigation: Lead on-site investigations for any accidents, incidents, or technical failures.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 20 years of experience in railway systems, specifically in operation and maintenance (O&M).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is often preferred.

  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of rolling stock, depot systems, and maintenance protocols.

  • International Standards: Strong knowledge of international best practices for railway safety and inspection.

  • Regional Knowledge: Experience with projects in specific regions (e.g., GCC or Southeast Asia) is highly desirable
