Job Shift: Day (1st)SUMMARY
The Robotic Welding Programmer is responsible for programming robotic welding equipment, designing and creating fixtures for parts, and ensuring that all robotically welded components meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, write, and edit programs for product completion, both off-line and on the machine.
- Use offline robotic welding software to develop, write, and improve welding processes as well as improve part quality.
- Use 3D modeling software to design fixtures designated for robotic welding cells.
- Validate all programs and fixtures, making necessary adjustments to ensure that parts meet or exceed safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Interpret and manipulate drawings & part models as well as interpret part manuals and part specifications to determine set-up requirements. This includes determining whether or not a fixture is necessary and appropriate.
- Configure welder settings to produce quality parts in the most safe and efficient manner.
- Create setup sheet to clearly convey tooling, process, and set-up requirements to the robot welder operator.
- Review set-up sheets for accuracy and competency.
- Confer with engineers, production personnel or others to resolve welding problems.
- Work in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.

QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two-year college or technical school and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Yaskawa controls preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers, employees of organization, and in one-on-one situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Prior experience with a computer is required. Knowledge of basic commands such as setting tabs, opening, closing files and simple formulas. AutoCad, Solid Works, offline welding programming software, Excel and Intuitive are used to complete the tasks of the job.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. High level of attention to detail. Analytical approach to problem solving. Ability to deal with problems involving several components in variable and standardized situations. Ability to multitask and stay organized.
