Job Title: Robotics Maintenance Technician


The Robotics Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of robotic systems, controllers, and peripheral supporting equipment (such as conveyors, end-of-arm tooling, and vision systems). This role involves routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex electrical/mechanical issues, and repairing robots to minimize downtime in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, sensor checks, and repairs on robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa) to ensure peak performance.
  • Controller Maintenance: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair or replace defective robotic controllers, circuit boards, encoders, and servomotors.
  • System Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues within robotic cells using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and software.
  • Programming & Calibration: Modify existing robot movements, calibrate joints and sensors, and adjust PLC logic (programmable logic controllers) for optimized operation.
  • Support System Upkeep: Maintain peripheral equipment, including end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), conveyors, safety scanners, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Documentation & Safety: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and modifications in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Ensure strict compliance with OSHA safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Required Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Robotics & Controllers: Hands-on experience with industrial robots (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, etc.) and their specific controller hardware/software.
  • PLC Programming: Basic to intermediate knowledge of PLC ladder logic (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Electrical/Mechanical Aptitude: Strong ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
  • Troubleshooting Tools: Proficiency with diagnostic instruments like oscilloscopes and voltmeters.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, or a similar field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in industrial robotics maintenance or field service.

Pay Rate: $34.99 per hour
