Job Description

Position Summary

The Roadway Estimator develops detailed estimates for roadway construction projects including grading, earthwork, subgrade preparation, base rock, traffic control, erosion control, and roadway improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze roadway plans, profiles, cross sections, and specifications.
• Complete earthwork calculations and mass haul evaluations.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs for grading, aggregate base, stabilization, guardrail, signage, and roadway features.
• Evaluate equipment production rates and manpower requirements.
• Coordinate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist with bid strategy development and risk assessments.
• Support field teams during project startup and estimate turnover.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in highway, roadway, or transportation infrastructure construction.
• Understanding of grading operations and earthwork production.
• Ability to interpret roadway design plans and construction sequencing.
• Knowledge of MoDOT specifications and bidding procedures.
