About the position

Council’s City Works Road Department is looking for a Roads and Drainage Maintenance Officer.

You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Council’s infrastructures and assets, throughout the Frankston municipality in accordance with works and management programs.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Perform all civil infrastructure maintenance tasks and repairs in accordance with works programs and management systems. Works will include, asphalt, concrete and minor civil repairs across sealed and unsealed roads, signage and open drainage areas;
  • Operate and maintain various items of plant and equipment in accordance with Council’s Safety Procedures such as: Excavator and Front End Loader; and
  • Undertake other duties as may be required due to varying workloads within the City Works Section.

This is a full time role working 38 hours per week.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will have

  • Current Driver Licence
  • Current Medium Ridged truck
  • Experience of safely driving of vehicles over to 13.9 tonnes GCM
  • Construction or trades related industry experience with maintaining asphalt, signage and infrastructure networks;
  • Experience in the use of a variety of tools, plant and mechanical equipment relating to infrastructure maintenance;
  • Excellent customer service experience; and
  • An understanding of safe work practices.

This position is a Band 3A currently remunerated at $69,665.28 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
