
Job Purpose:
The Road Tech Controller directs the activities of assigned staff; oversees, coordinates, prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects and is overall responsible to ensure proper and timely remote troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance and good working order for all types of vehicles/equipment and hand tools within their designated operating area. The employee should have strong working knowledge of the types of employee experience, machinery, tools, and supplies required to support field maintenance work.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has direct reports, which includes Road Technicians and other Fleet Support personnel.
Essential Functions:
• Evaluate, prioritize, and delegate work among assigned Fleet support staff.
• Ensure subordinates comply with safety and operating rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ensure subordinates maintain a clean and safe working environment to protect oneself and others in accordance with all department guidelines and all applicable company safety rules.
• Ensure Road Techs and their vehicles are adequately supported and supplied to perform assigned tasks, to include remote repairs and installations on all types of equipment, including but not limited to, all vehicles, trailers, power operated equipment as well as hand tools.
• Timely and precise branding of equipment in close coordination with the Fleet Controller.
• Closely collaborate with the Fleet Controller and Fleet Care Center to maintain accurate dashboards and scheduling records of time and parts used on specific work order tasks.
• Assist in dispatching maintenance and repair work orders.
• Protect organizational information by keeping personnel, pricing, promotion, purchase order, and credit-limit information confidential.

Travel Requirements:
• Ability to travel up to 25% of work time.
Required education and experience:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• Two years’ experience in repair management or related field.
Preferred education and experience:
• Associate degree in business or related field.
• Five years’ experience in repair management or related field.
