Practice is aligned with Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) standards and evidence-based guidelines.

Function/Duties of Position

The WOCN provides consultation for complex cases, including advanced wound management, ostomy care, fistula management, and peristomal and continence-related skin complications. The role contributes to the development and evaluation of policies, standards of care, and clinical guidelines, and participates in product evaluation to ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious care delivery.

The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RN's care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics.
