RN - Visiting On Call ( 7 days on, 7 days off)

Salary: $37.00 - $45.05 per hour based on years of experience

A compassionate job seeker is needed for the RN Visiting On Call opportunity with Samaritan! As an RN, you will be responsible for maintaining prompt response time to patient/caregiver phone calls to ensure 24 access to service.

What You'll Do:

• Maintains prompt response time to patient/caregiver phone calls to ensure 24 hour access to service
• Ensures prompt access to hospice care by managing all available resources when office is closed
• Provides appropriate intervention, e.g. emotional support, education, nurse visit, in response to stated problem
• Triages visits to provide care to patients/families in crisis
• Ensures continuity of established plan of care for patients and families receiving hospice service
• Maintains confidentiality, discusses patient information discreetly with caregivers and necessary staff members
• Assesses the need for patient and family education, provides education as needed and documents in medical record
• Obtains appropriate physician orders to achieve symptom management
• Directs others in implementing the plan of care
• Fosters interdisciplinary team communication between day and on call staff

What You'll Bring To Our Team:

• R.N. required; BSN preferred
• NJ Registered Nurse License, BLS training, valid NJ driver’s license and insurance coverage, CRNH preferred, OCN desirable
• Two years previous medical/surgical experience, hospice or home care experience preferred
• Ability to perform complete physical assessment and skilled nursing care, belief in and acceptance of hospice philosophy, ability to direct other health care providers, ability to organize work to ensure optimal productivity while maintaining quality, willingness to promote professional growth through continuing education
