The RN Vascular Access utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings incollaboration with other health care providers. The RN Vascular Access is accountable for his/her own professionaldevelopment and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Utilizing organizational resources, the RNVascular Access acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care, including delegation of care andparticipation in performance and practice improvement activities. RN Vascular Access's roles in the delivery of care topatients include, but not limited to, providing specialized vascular care (PICC, PowerGlide, IV under ultrasound) portaccess and other peripheral access as needed, providing routine dressing change and evaluations plus maintainingappropriate documentation and records as indicated for all phases of care. The delivery of nursing care within theKettering Health reflects the missions, vision, values and philosophies, of the organization and nursing departments.Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse. Newgraduates from non-accredited programs may be considered if they had a clinical rotation at a network hospital.• Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred (must be completed within 5 years of hire). If hired after June of2010, at KHMC, all other KH facilities after Jan 2011.• A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provideevidence of successful completion of a refresher course.
