Cleveland Clinic specializes in comprehensive surgical services for populations of all ages. As a member of this team, you willassistfellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, frominitialintroduction to final send-off. You will interact directly with patients,familiesand visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.
A caregiver in this position works 7:00am – 3:30pm or 10:30am – 9:00pm, with on-call requirements. Orientation: Mon-Fri| six months| 7:00am – 3:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
Perform scrub and circulating functions.
Prepare the OR, surgicalinstrumentsand equipment for use.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing(Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross (within six months of hire)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sof Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically
